Jacob Cader is an experienced cinematographer, film editor and photographer, currently studying Human-Centered Design at Brown University in Providence, RI.
I work for the Brown Arts Initiative as an event photographer, and have previously been employed by Brown’s Office of University Communications as a video production assistant, creating original student pieces and covering events such as graduation and reunion.
As a filmmaker, I have worked with Academy Award-nominated documentarian Oren Jacoby at Storyville Films as a director of photography, editor, and sound recorder on projects in Cuba and New York. I created a promotional video for Wave Hill, a nonprofit public garden in Bronx NY, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of their Sunroom gallery project. I also served as director of cinematography for two student-produced films through Brown Motion Pictures, Somewhere It Is Spring and Facunda.
Currently a junior at Brown University, I created an independent concentration in Human-Centered Design for Digital Media, exploring the practical and creative applications of usability and human factors. My coursework includes human factors, user interface and user experience design, rapid prototyping and iterative ideation, nonfiction writing for digital media, and the arts.
This website showcases samples of my recent work from UI/UX (course projects), film, photography and art (sculpture and graphic design), and my background includes extensive additional student work in journalism, web design, and graphic design.
I regularly take on freelance photography and filmmaking commissions. For further information, professional references and more please contact me on one of the platforms listed below.
